Cloning Your Pet?

No, I dont think that cloning is a very good idea. I mean, Im all for advancement in technology and everything but cloning is pushing it I think. It takes away from the natural process of life and how the whole process is meant to work! If you cloned a pet that passed away then you have no variety in life, no enjoyment of the different personalities that pets can have. It just doesnt seem righ to me. So as you can tell, no I would not clone my own pet if I had the opportunity.

Knowing Your Genes

Personally, I dont care to know the genes I have and was born with. If anyone should be given the right to know about my personal genes it should be me and me alone. I dont think it is necessary at all for insurance companies to need to know the kinds of genetics we were born with. Doing this would only complicate the already highly complicated insurance process.

Genetic Selection

Wow!! To me, this is an example of how far our technology has come over the years. I think its great that diseases can be detected with this process, but i dont think i would use this process for determining other things or characteristics of my child. I dont think I would of wanted this process done on myself either. To be honest, it takes away from the beauty and greatness of the child birthing process that God meant and made for us to have!

Cellular Resperation

As I have learned, we as humans can not rely and live off of doing just anaerobic cellular resperation because of a lack of oxygen. This lack of oxygen would leave us drained and unenergetic. Anaerobic cellular respiration is relied on when our bodies exceed the amount of oxygen our bodies can make. As far as warm and cold blooded animals, the cold blooded animals are far less active because of the fact that their bodies produce far less ATP than warm blooded animals do like mammals.

Photosynthesis

Photosynthesis is a very hard concept to grasp completely. I know its a process that is needed for the plants survival. And without the plants we would suffer a lot. We use plants on a daily basis and couldnt live without them! we rely on them for food, decoration, and the furthering of life in general.

Food Labels

Its very interesting how the trans fat is now needed to be put on the food labels. I know that that majority of what America eats is manufactured food and not too incredibly healthy. I know I do! I looked at a penut butter label in our pantry and there was no trans fat, but 16g of total fat. It doesnt have a whole lot of ingredients, but what it does have is peanuts, sugar, hydrogenated veg. oil and mollasses. Kinda wierd.

Living or Not

I think that all the characteristics that are listed defining a living thing are pretty adequate. It s interesting to think about all of those characterisitcs and apply them to ourselves as human beings. As i went down the list, I indeed fell under every catagory for a living thing. I dont think I could add anything to this list of necessities myself. most everything needed is already listed. I may put them in different, easier to read jargan, but other than that I wouldnt change anything.
